At The Broken Biscuit Repair Shop, I’m passionate about creating unique, handcrafted pieces made from a variety of natural and man-made materials. Whether you’re wearing one of my necklaces, bracelets, or displaying a carved artwork, I want you to enjoy your items safely and confidently. This page provides essential safety and care information.

Materials and Craftsmanship

My products are made using carefully selected materials, including:

Bone: Responsibly sourced for distinctive and timeless designs.

Amber Stone and Glass: Natural, durable materials that bring unique character to my accessories.

Wood: Hand-carved and treated to showcase its natural beauty.

Man-Made Materials: Used selectively to ensure quality and durability.

Each item is meticulously crafted and inspected before I send it to you.

Wearable Items Safety

For necklaces, bracelets, and other wearable items, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

Avoid Wearing During Physical Activities:

Remove your necklaces and bracelets during exercise, heavy lifting, or any strenuous activity or using any machinery, to prevent accidental breakage or injury to yourself or the piece.

Do Not Wear While Sleeping:

To avoid discomfort, tangling, or potential damage to the item, I recommend removing all accessories before going to bed.

Keep Away from Water:

Avoid wearing your items while bathing, swimming, or in the rain, as water can weaken natural materials and damage finishes.

Caution with Snagging:

Be mindful of your accessories when wearing loose or textured clothing to prevent snagging or breakage.

Not Suitable for Young Children:

My wearable items are not designed for children and should be kept out of their reach to avoid choking hazards at all times. Please keep away from pets.

Damage

If you chip or damage your item in any way you must stop using or wearing this immediately and conatc me, damaged pieces risk causing injury as they are no longer smooth and safe to use.

In addition to the above, please note:

Allergy Awareness: If you have sensitive skin or allergies, perform a short test by wearing the item for a brief period before extended use. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a medical professional and let me know of this.

Caring for Your Products

To preserve the beauty and longevity of your items:

Cleaning:

• For bone, wood, and man-made materials: Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

• For amber and stone: Use a soft, dry cloth to avoid scratching.

Storage: Store your items in a cool, dry place, ideally in a jewelry box or pouch, to protect them from dust and sunlight.

Inspect Regularly: Check for signs of wear, such as frayed rope or loose components, and handle with care to avoid further damage.

Displaying Carved Artwork

To keep your carved artwork in excellent condition while on display, follow these tips:

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading or warping of natural materials like wood and bone.

Keep in a Stable Environment: Display pieces in areas with stable temperature and humidity to prevent cracking or other damage.

Dust Gently: Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using water or cleaning sprays, as they may damage the surface.

Keep Away from Heat Sources: Do not place carvings near radiators, fireplaces, or other heat sources to prevent warping or discoloration.

Secure Display: Ensure the piece is placed securely to avoid accidental falls, especially if displayed on shelves or stands and out of reach of small children and pets.

Compliance with Safety Standards

I’m committed to ensuring all my products meet the General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR), so you can feel confident in their safety and quality.
