Large Amber skull

This piece of Amber is full of inclusions that settled in the resinous gum that bled from a tree that once stood in a forest in a world that we can only imagine now. 50,000,000 years ago this nugget formed and gathered pieces of the forest that settled within the gum, pieces of plant and soil and possibly even ash from forest fires are trapped in this piece now and for evermore.
I have carefully and sympathetically hand carved this pieces in to a skull pendant to show its intricate and beautiful nature to best effect now and hung it on a red and black hand woven rope cord topped off with a toggle carved from a piece of the same stone.
